PREP YOUR LIPS
Exfoliation boosts blood circulation and removes dead skin so lips will look plumper and brighter. You can buy lip exfoliators such as Clarins Extra-Firming Lip and Contour Gentle Exfoliator, but for a quick home remedy use a very soft-bristled children's toothbrush dipped in Vaseline and move in light circular movements over lips. Apply a moisturising balm afterwards.
Disguise fine lines with a lip primer which goes on under lipstick and acts as a base. Restylane Hydro-Pout Lip Refresh is a new treatment where hyaluronic acid is injected into lips to increase hydration and smooth out fine lines. Results last for six months
If you're toying with the idea of fuller lips but nervous about the result try the Cinderella Lip Treatment. Saline solution is injected into the lip line which gives you a fuller pout for up to 48 hours. Plump Out Restylane Lip Volume involves injecting tiny quantities of hyaluronic acid under the surface of the lips to boost condition, definition and tone.
For lip colour which will last all day try the Emotional Brilliance range from Lush. This range of lip colours is based on colour therapy and made with organic oil and rose wax. Try Liquid Lips in Strong, £14.50 (lush.co.uk) a bold pigment-rich red shade perfect for a Valentine's date.
